Luize Salmgrieze in ‘Omaggio A Cocteau’ by Sandrine Dulermo & Michael Labica for Amica

Art and Eras collide with Luize Salmgrieze in ’Omaggio A Cocteau’ by Sandrine Dulermo & Michael Labica for the March issue of Amica Magazine.  In honor of the French artist, Jean Cocteau, this editorial captures the eclectic spirit of a great avant-garde adventurer.  A man known for his experimental nature, he understood the profound effect that modern art had on pop-culture, and often enjoyed merging the old and new in an attempt to discover new forms of creative expression. A true explorer at heart, his wide and varied talents allowed him to enjoy a diverse career as a novelist, poet, set-designer, filmmaker, playwright and more.  Exerting much influence over many prolific artists of the last century, the power of his works were seen in his unequaled ability to cross genres and styles.  An ode to the surrealistic strength of artistic enmeshment, this philosophy of fluidity has made it’s way to the fashion industry, leading to the current explosion of retro-modern layouts.  Taking this theme to the extreme, (stylist) Laurent Dombrowicz gathers a group of Spring’s greatest graphic designs to set among a mix of the masters.  Bold meets baroque in this beautiful blending of opposites, where time is transcended, and the only truth lies in the fact that all creativity is connected.
